About the Blog
I started The Written Word(s) in late 2013 because I wanted to connect with people in a new way. 2013 was a great year – the year I joined the International Geek Girl Pen Pals Club, the year I started vlogging and forming connections with people online, and the year I began to fully embrace my geeky identity as a big part of who I am.
Since I was younger I’ve always loved to write, and that was a way in which I wanted to try connecting with people from all over the world. I started writing about my reinvigorated love for snail mail that the IGGPC provided, and also wrote about as many fandom-based topics as I could conceive to write about. I write about things I love, things I’m passionate about, things I hope for, and through the course of that I’m expanding what The Written Word(s) means every time I publish a post.
My name is Kacie Cruise – the bare-bones facts you might want to know is that I have a BA in English: Writing, Rhetoric & Discourse Studies (I only say the full name when I want to impress people ;P), and I've also completed a post-grad certificate program in Creative Book Publishing from Humber College.
I’m Canadian, living near Toronto, Ontario, and I plan on spending my retirement travelling to various conventions all over the world, with San Diego Comic Con being the first on my bucket list. I’m a proud Hufflepuff, I am Sherlocked, and I’m a tad bit obsessed with the Cornetto Trilogy (points to anybody who recognizes the series XD)
Overall I love to read and I love to write and I hope to do as much as I can of both in my lifetime.
